Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Lyon forward Rayan Cherki as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the French club looking to raise funds to address the club’s dire financial situation.
Salah has become a Liverpool legend, having scored 221 goals and provided 99 assists in 366 appearances since joining in 2017.
The winger, who won the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool, has continued his fine form this season, scoring 10 goals in just 17 appearances in all competitions for Arne Slots’ side.
However, the club are in a race against time as Salah’s contract expires this summer and he will be able to speak to foreign clubs from January.
L’Equipe recently report that Liverpool are preparing for the future and are seriously interest in Cherki.
Paris Saint-Germain are also believe to be keeping tabs on the Lyon winger, with his future at the club still uncertain.
Earlier this year, Cherki said: “I don’t think about what’s next.”
“His future will wait until the end of this season. Lyon still comes first. When the time comes to ask, we will ask, but it’s not the time yet.”
Cherki’s contract is due to expire in 2016 but could be extend by a further year if he remains at the club by the end of next summer.
